Looks like some good ole Georgia boys are starting to play dirty with this water debate…

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — A controversial 200-year-old survey marker detailing the border between two states — and water rights to the Tennessee River — is missing.
The Camak Stone, a slightly off-the-mark surveyor’s stone at the confluence of the Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama borders, isn’t where it is supposed to be.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports that a volunteer for nearby State Line Cemetery, Freddie McCulley, noticed the stone was gone after discovering some vandalism at the cemetery.

I found this on Wikipedia tonight. It shows who has a whole /8 block of IP’s assigned to them. Surprised at a few on the list but someone please tell me why in the world the US Department of defense has 10 /8’s? How can even the US Government use that many IP’s? There the answer to our IP shortage…

I’ve got some Brats… What’ll that get me?

Italian banks may soon accept high-end prosciutto and wine as collateral for loans. The Italian agriculture minister is into the idea. Apparently, it’s not as far-fetched as it sounds. From The Guardian:
The Italian bank Credito Emiliano has long stored hundreds of thousands of parmesan wheels, worth about 300 (euros) each, in warehouses as collateral while they age. Since the bank can sell the cheese if creditors default, it can afford to offer low interest rates to an industry which is suffering from recession and supermarket discounting. Legs of cured ham, or prosciutto crudo, weighing about 10kg, can sell for hundreds of euros after months of curing in controlled conditions, while bottles of Brunello di Montalcino are regularly snapped up for the same amount. "We may start off with accepting wine as collateral, but I would prefer the Italian banking association to launch an industry-wide scheme which involves a range of products," said Zonin. "This will help producers in times of crisis as well as when the economy picks up."

Imagine that… Birds for AT&T…
from Gizmodo by Adam Frucci
Here’s a shocker of a survey from ChangeWave Research: iPhone owners love their phones, but they hate the network it’s chained to. Are you listening, Apple?
Carton said that the latest ChangeWave survey, which polled nearly 200 owners of Apple’s newest iPhone model, the 3GS, showed a "near-perfect satisfaction rating" for the product. More than eight of every ten iPhone 3GS owners said they were "very satisfied" with the smartphone, while another 17% said they were "somewhat satisfied."
…But the poll also revealed major dissatisfaction with AT&T, the lone mobile service provider allowed to sell calling plans for the iPhone in the U.S.
When asked to name their top dislikes about the iPhone, 32% named iPhone lock-in with AT&T, while 23% pegged AT&T’s calling and data coverage, service quality and service speed. Both responses, however, came in behind iPhone battery issues, which was the No. 1 dislike.
AT&T’s been trying hard to extend their exclusivity with Apple for another couple of years, but every survey like this that comes out has got to make it harder to justify. AT&T has been almost the sole source of bad press for the iPhone, and for a company so fanatical about controlling its coverage in the media that’s gotta be getting old.

Imagine that… Some people know they don’t play fair so they have to change the rules so they can win…
from TechCrunch by Nicholas Deleon
When was the last time you read your AT&T contract? If you answered “never,” then may I suggest you take two minutes to look this over. That’s right, unbeknownst to you, you just lost the ability to enter into a class action lawsuit against the mobile phone carrier. High five!
