Ryan Cleary

In the Beginning:

My name is Ryan Cleary and I was born in Birmingham Alabama. I moved to Rome GA when I was about 3 years old. My childhood was great, but I didn’t do much, so there is not much to talk about. I graduated from Rome High School in 2002, and after graduation started my own business. While I was in high school, I met my future wife, Whitney Barris who I married in 2004. We had our son, Jackson, in May of 2006. He is the coolest dude in the world. I was always worried about having a kid; I would not trade being a dad for anything in the world. Currently, Whitney is a stay at home mom getting ready for our second son due on 2-11-08.

What I am doing now:

I am a Network Engineer for Parker Systems and Parker FiberNet. We are a CLEC in Georgia and maintain about 150 miles of Fiber Optic Cable. We are a small company with a large high level customer base including Motorola, The University of Georgia, Berry College, numerous hospitals and clinics, schools and governments. Needless to say, there is always something to work on. I also manage our Vertex-Standard Two-Way Radio dealership.

I am a partner in a production company called Ready or Not. We offer complete sound, light, and video production for events all over the Southeast. In the past, we have had the privilege of working with acts such as: Sister Hazel, The Jonas Brothers, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Mark Wills, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Heartland, Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson, Third Day, Bebo Norman, Passion, Casting Crowns, Isaac Hayes, and many others. We also produce many corporate events including parties, banquets, and press conferences.

Things you may not know about me:

• Although not very active, I have been a Ham Radio operator (call sign KF4OYS) since I was 12 years old when at the time I am pretty sure, and have been told; I was the youngest to be licensed in North Georgia. Since that time I know of an 8 year old to be licensed.
• I am addicted to being connected to everything via my PDA / Phone.
• I can put back some Tazo Black Chai Hot Tea. Some people drink Coffee, I drink Tea. All kinds of tea.
• I hate Comcast and get most of my daily TV from Netflix streaming, video podcasts, my Apple TV, and You Tube. I frequently listen to audio podcasts while driving since there is not much to listen to in the big city of Rome, GA. I am a huge proponent of content delivery via IP (the internet).
